"The Sands of Deceit"

Films: Dust Devil (1992)

Alias: The Naughtloper

Type: Mystical

Location: Desert/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: There are demons driven by ambition. And there are those driven by rage. The Dust Devil is both of those things, and then some.

History: Appearing since the dawn of man, the Dust Devil has haunted the more barren parts of South Africa for some time. It's most recent host is a cowboy-looking American, and it mainly goes around killing those with suicidal thoughts, mutilating them and keeping some of their body parts.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: Eventually, the Dust Devil is halted by a kierie stick, but before the ritual meant to banish him can be complete, he gets a shotgun shell to the head by the woman he's been pursuing. Soon, the Devil's spirit inhabits the woman, and she becomes the next Dust Devil.

Powers/Abilities: Possession, control of sand, slight manipulation of reality.

Weakness: A kierie stick will stop him dead in his tracks, and burning a sacred root afterwards will make him unable to possess anyone.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Looking like a nomadic outlaw, this guy is the last hitchhiker you want to encounter. He's got the power, and more importantly, the will to use it.

Trivia: -This film is mainly based around South African tales of a serial killer known as Nhadiep, who had previously inspired another film, 1989's "Windprints".

-The Dust Devil was played by Robert John Burke, who was known for his recurring roles in old "Law and Order" episodes.

Then again, both serial killers and devils have a habit of not staying dead.

More like an "Ash Devil".
"Please ignore my god-like brother behind me."

"Yah got change?"
